[ Samatoki's never really had money to live a comfortable life. While not exactly poor, he did turn to lead a darker life just for his sister. He keeps things neat, though. Even though he seems rugged with his voice, his messy hair, his posture, his piercings, and everything else, he knows how to take care of a house. He keeps it neat and clean and everything he needs is there. Anything unnecessary isn't bought when he could be using the money for something else.
